Having used and experimented with several toaster ovens for my cooking, it is safe to say the Breville BOV800XL convection toaster oven might just be the best convection toaster oven ever.
If durability and smart technology is what you’re looking for in a toaster oven, you’ll be happy to pay up for this rather expensive toaster oven. It’s not a toaster oven per se, but more like a personal chef you can order around. Breville says it has Element IQ. Basically it controls the heat according to the function you choose, such as bake, broil or toast.
This toaster oven is not a box with heating elements in it that simply turns raw food into cooked food. It is actually programmed to know what type of heating your food needs to cook the way you want it to cook. The power is adjusted to efficiently supply heat throughout the entire toaster oven and cook your food evenly in a shorter period of time. Quartz elements are used to achieve thorough heating within the toaster oven as it holds a swift response towards heat change.
You will be able to bake, broil, toast, reheat, and do so much more by just turning the dials. These settings can effortlessly be modified to suit your recipes, amount of food, and so on.
Perfect for cooking large portions of food, the Breville BOV800XL is wide enough to fit in a 13-inch pizza or 6 slices of bread or even a whole chicken. The 3 rack positions inside the toaster oven lets you adjust the space to cook different kinds of food and the auto-eject wire rack allows you to reach for your food without burning your hand.
The futuristic looking, built-in back-lit LCD screen is where it shows you what’s going on, your selected cooking functions, time, and temperature of the convection toaster oven. Together with the stainless steel housing and some imagination this toaster oven looks like one of Stark’s devices in Age Ultron. Not really, but you get my meaning. As for the controls, it is extremely easy to navigate by merely turning the dials below the LCD screen.
Cleaning the Breville BOV800XL is as simple as taking out all the removable parts and washing them. This includes the extremely easy to remove crumb tray (removable from the front), the wire rack and any baking pan. With all removed, you are able to wipe clean the interior of the convection toaster oven that is nonstick. Remember to wipe clean the tempered glass door too.
To put it simply, the Breville BOV800XL won’t cause you any regrets except for a slightly thinner wallet. If you cook daily meals with a toaster oven, and perhaps bake a few other things on top of that, don’t even think twice about getting this toaster oven.
